eSummit session
WIDA is delighted to announce its online eSummit learning opportunity. This new program is free and open to domestic members of the WIDA Consortium, including federal agencies, states, and territories. WIDA eSummit this year will be focused on the design features and navigation of the 2020 Edition WIDA ELD. For more information, please visit the WIDA eSummit Page.
WIDA staff, educators, as well as experts in the field will all be speaking at the eSummit. Vietthanh Nguyen, the keynote speaker, was a finalist at the PEN/Faulkner prize and a Pulitzer Prize recipient. Other sessions will include topics relevant for educators of K-12 multilingual learners and the WIDA English Language Development Standards Framework. WIDA eSummit attendees will be able to hear from WIDA staff members and receive updates on social media.

Registering requirements
WIDA Annual Conference started in 2013 and has been traveling to many cities since. 600 participants attended the first conference. There was a long waitinglist. Today, more than 1,000 people attend the conference. Register on the WIDA site to register for this conference. This year's theme: Educating Diverse Students: Building Communities of Practice. These are the registration requirements for the conference to help you plan.
WIDA Annual Conference attendees must be members. WIDA members get discounted rates on conferences. Simply use the code WIDA at registration to register. There are two keynote speakers for the conference.
Keynote speaker
WIDA is the most important event for educators. Viet Thanh Nguyen will be the keynote speaker. He is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and finalist for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize. Nguyen is also a professor at the University of Southern California. WIDA's eConference will include sessions that correspond with the conference theme. WIDA's English Language Development Standards Framework (WIDA ELSF) will also be highlighted. Participants can choose from five concurrent sessions within each block.
WIDA conference also features online presentations, curated panels, and access to recordings after the event. Additionally, the WIDA eConference will feature a spotlight session focused on parent outreach. WIDA's featured educator program will highlight outstanding colleagues in the classroom, district and state education fields. WIDA will host key note speakers as well as educational leaders via our Featured educator program.

Video Library Conference
The Video Library conference will provide an opportunity for library professionals to share knowledge and best practices to advance the field of video reference. Using the digital platform, attendees can view conference videos from any PC, Mac computer, iDevice, web browser or mobile device. Access to the videos is possible without special hardware. Additionally, attendees can share their online credentials and login details with library colleagues. You can also access the conference program using the video library's detailed instructions.
On Oct. 13, 2019, the PLA celebrated their 75th anniversary. The PLA will continue to celebrate its history through 2020. The PLA released an Anniversary video, featuring stories from members, and started a fundraising campaign in order to provide 15 scholarships at the Video Library Conference 2020. Scholarship recipients include library school students, early career librarians, and support staff. Microsoft has also been a partner in two initiatives that the organization developed to support library staff, and improve professional development. The PLA has many initiatives that help libraries grow and thrive.
